Besides it architectural beauty, Naples is the home of two impressive Castles (Castel dell’ovo and Maschio Angioino) and the folklore attached to them. Caserta’s Bourton Royal Palace is a miniature of the famous Palace of Sun King at Versailles. The location of Villa Giovanna allows quick access to Historic Pompeii and Herculaneum, both a must see.
In the same general area we suggest visiting the city of Pozzuolii and Capua with their Amphitheaters, museums and important excavation..
We have not mentioned yet a visit to the islands of Ischia and Capri … loved by everyone who visits them. Other interesting sites to visit is the Sansevero Chapel Museum where you will find the famous masterpiece, the life size “Veiled Christ”, renowned for the tissue-like quality of the marble it was carved from/ (Giuseppe Sanmartino in 1753).
