A magnificent medieval castle, set on a hilltop, with views of the Tuscan countryside, Castle Federico would make the ideal location for an intimate wedding, a family reunion or the holiday of a lifetime for a group of friends.
The castle is surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. Guests can buy Chianti wine and olive oil directly from the producers.
This medieval castle, which was converted into an aristocratic house during the Renaissance, has been sensitively restored and decorated in a luxurious, traditional style. There are 3 floors, and the upper two floors each have bedrooms, bathrooms, a living room and a small kitchen. On the ground floor, there is a large living room with comfortable sofas and an open fireplace. The living room is close to the main kitchen, which is fully equipped with a large cooker, oven, dishwasher, an American fridge/freezer, coffee machine and microwave. There is a separate dining room which seats 20 people. From the dining room, there are French windows giving direct access to the garden and a second dining area, shaded by a pergola, where up to 20 guests can enjoy eating “al fresco”.
The outdoor space has been arranged with as much care as the interiors. The private swimming pool is on a stone terrace with lovely views over the valley to the hills beyond. It has Roman steps, with mosaic details, and a separate jacuzzi. There are also two bathrooms with showers close to the swimming pool, sun-loungers with parasols and shaded seating for guests to truly relax and enjoy their beautiful surroundings.

In the heart of Chianti, all the gems of Tuscany are within easy reach, from Arezzo (30-minute drive) to Florence (1-hour drive), Sienna (55-minute drive) to the charming town of Cortona (40 minutes). For pure relaxation visit the thermal springs at Rapolano Terme just 30 minutes from the property.
There are some excellent restaurants in Monte San Savino, but if guests are keen to cook for themselves, the local markets are not to be missed. Arezzo’s weekly market is on Saturday in Viale Giotto, Montepulciano (40 mins) has a market every Friday and Cortona’s market in Piazza Signorelli is also on Saturday.
The closest airports are Florence, a 1 hour and 10 minutes drive, or Perugia, which is 1 hour and 15 minutes away. Please note that the pool is open from the 1st of May 2023 to the 30th of September 2023
